Artur Eranosian - Introduction and Curator Statement
This week I am presenting you seven young talented photographers from Belgium. My country produced a significant number of internationally acclaimed photographers. This is the new generation. Apart from a blogger I am a photography student myself and the photographers presented here are my sources of inspiration. They are all documentary photographers and each is in the process of developing his/her own style.
Dieter de Lathauwer is somewhat of a guru to me. He is strong opinioned person and he is not easily convinced. What I find truly fascinating in his work is how he can keep significant distance to the true subject of a photograph, making it a small part of the composition, while at the same time that small part attracts and retains my attention immediately. In this tension lies a vision of the relationship we have with our surroundings. Dieter is a very modest person, seemingly unaware of how good his work already is.

I like the idea of “all is open, all is relative”… it is one I have carried around with me all my life and that has taken me to places I may never have got to otherwise… literally but also evolutionwise…
I hope it will take you to good places :-)
pictures 1-2-3-4 are simple “fillers”, yes? Much nicer if the selection started from number 5… :)
