curator statement
Consciously orientated towards the exploration of the limits between space and landscape, Yiorgis Yerolymbos examines the impression left upon the landscape by a major public work such as Egnatia Odos. In his series Topos Atopos he locates landscapes suspended between construction initiatives and the legislation for the protection of designated forest areas while, correspondingly, in his series Mare Liberum he lets himself into gazing reflectively at the open sea, seemingly groping for the relationship between the world and the self. Hercules Papaioannou is the curator of the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography.
